Photographs 1974-1982

These photos were taken with a manual Fujica SLR that was given to me by a friend in 1974.  I photographed my West Village neighbourhood in New York, my first visits to Ireland, friends' weddings -- usually developing the film myself and learning to make prints.  I stopped taking black and white photos when I became pregnant and was nervous of darkroom chemicals.  Sadly my camera was stolen in the mid-eighties and I switched to colour and then digital.  A few years ago I had all my black and white negatives digitalised and learned how to edit them with Photoshop.  I am aiming at a selection of 100 pictures.  Here are some of my favourites.
